Description
Hearth and Table
Tagline: Share warmth. Break bread. Make home wherever you are.
📜 Quest Summary
The hearth is wherever kindness gathers. In this quest, you will host a simple, welcoming meal— a soup night, potluck, tea circle, or picnic—so that friends, neighbors, or wanderers may feel at home. The goal isn’t fancy food; it’s shared presence, dignity, and warmth.
Choose an accessible setting (home, yard, community room, park with tables) and offer a meal or hot drink with care for dietary needs and inclusion. Keep it small, sincere, and safe. A good table is a little altar: a place where stories are told and burdens are lighter when lifted together.
When complete, write a brief reflection (who came, what you shared, a moment that mattered) and take a photo of the set table before guests arrive or of the cleaned space afterward (no faces required). Email to quests@RLLARP.ca with the subject line “Hearth and Table.”
🧭 Suggested Steps
- Pick a date, time, and simple format (soup & bread, tea & fruit, potluck, picnic).
- Invite 2–6 people: neighbors, friends, an elder, or someone new to town.
- Plan for inclusion: label dishes; offer a vegetarian or gluten-free option if possible; provide water and tea.
- Set the space: clean table, a candle or flower, plates/napkins; create a calm, welcoming atmosphere.
- Open with gratitude or a short intention; encourage gentle conversation and listening.
- Close by tidying together; send leftovers appropriately; thank attendees.
🎯 Completion Markers
- One hosted meal or tea circle with at least one guest.
- A photo of the set table before guests or the cleaned space after (no faces required).

⚠️ Safety & Respect
- Honor boundaries and privacy; avoid posting faces or locations without consent.
- Food safety: wash hands, keep hot foods hot/cold foods cold, label allergens clearly.
- If in a public space, follow local rules; pack out all waste and leave the area cleaner than found.
- Accessibility: provide seating, shade/warmth as needed; be mindful of sensory sensitivities.
✨ Purpose
To turn everyday space into sanctuary—strengthening community through shared food, gentle conversation, and the warmth of welcome.
