Description
Guardians of the Green — Cooperative Cleanup
Type: Environmental / Physical / Social / Logistical
Difficulty: Challenging
Duration: Half Day to Full Day
Location: Larger park, forest, or community area
Prerequisites: Completion of Clean Your Street, Clean Your Park, and Coordinate a Group Cleanup
Story Context
You have walked as a Street Guardian, stood as a Park Protector, and led others as a Guardian of the Green. The Council has watched your service grow from a single act into group action — and now calls you to something greater still.
In this cooperative quest, multiple groups of Heroes unite to restore a large park, forest, or community area together. Different teams tend different sections at the same time, weaving a wide net of care across the land.
This is more than a cleanup. It is a living demonstration of what happens when many hearts act as one — the Earth is renewed more quickly, the community is inspired more deeply, and the bond between Heroes grows stronger.
Objectives
1) Form Hero Groups
Gather enough Heroes to form several teams of 2–5. Assign each group a distinct section of the chosen area — paths, fields, forest edges, riversides, or gathering spaces. Ensure every Hero knows their team, their section, and who they can turn to with questions.
2) Plan Logistics Together
As one larger circle, coordinate the time and duration, meeting points before and after the cleanup, tools and supplies (bags, gloves, grabbers, carts, etc.), and safety measures (avoiding hazards, staying in contact, respecting wildlife and boundaries). You may appoint a simple coordinating Hero to keep an overview.
3) Execute Simultaneous Cleanups
At the agreed start time, each group begins cleaning its assigned section. Teams gather litter, sort recyclables where possible, and protect plants, trees, and wildlife habitats, just as in earlier quests — now on a larger shared scale.
4) Communicate During the Quest
Encourage teams to share their journey through photos, notes, or live updates about progress, challenges, or noteworthy findings. This may happen in person when paths cross or through a shared group chat, helping everyone feel part of one coordinated effort.
5) Group Reflection
After the cleanup, all groups gather at the meeting point to reflect together. Discuss how much was cleaned, what challenges arose, how it felt to see many Heroes working at once, and what was learned about collaboration and stewardship.
6) Document and Share
Compile reflections, photos, and stories from all groups into a collective report — a written summary, collage, map, or short narrative that captures the essence of the cooperative quest.
Completion
By completing this cooperative quest, all participating Heroes ascend to the rank of High Guardians of the Green. The area is restored more effectively than any single Hero could achieve alone, and the cooperative effort strengthens both the environment and the bonds between Heroes.
