Black Forest Park: Guardians of the Mystical — North Bay
Type: Environmental / Magical / Physical / Emotional
Difficulty: Moderate
Duration: 2–3 Hours
Location: Black Forest Park, North Bay
Story Context
Black Forest Park holds a quiet, mystical atmosphere. For some, walking its paths feels
like stepping into an older layer of the world, where trees stand close, the river speaks
softly, and the presence of the forest can be felt. It is easy here to imagine unseen
guardians — symbols of the living magic of the woods.
The Council calls upon the Hero to enter this place with respect: to tend to the forest by
removing what does not belong, to sit by the river in stillness, and to listen for whatever
guidance arises when the land is treated as sacred.
Objectives
Step 1: Prepare for the Quest
Bring a bag for trash collection and wear suitable footwear for walking the trails and
riverbank. Optionally, bring a small mat or extra layer for sitting by the water.
Step 2: Clean the Forest
Walk through Black Forest Park, collecting litter and debris along the paths and near the
river. Avoid disturbing plants or habitats. Move with care, leaving the forest better than
you found it.
Step 3: Sit by the River
Find a quiet spot near the river to sit and reflect. Listen to the water, the wind, and
the sounds of life around you. Allow your body and mind to settle into the rhythm of the
forest.
Step 4: Connect with the Mystical
Offer gratitude to the forest and, if you wish, to the symbolic guardians of the woods.
Ask inwardly for insight or guidance about your role in protecting the land or walking in
harmony with it. Sit in silence for a few minutes and notice any thoughts, feelings, or
impressions that arise.
Step 5: Reflect and Record
After your visit, record your reflections: the state of the forest, how it felt to care for
it, and any messages or insights you sensed by the river. You may also include photos or a
simple map of your route.
Completion
By cleaning the forest and sitting in quiet connection by the river, the Hero deepens
their relationship with the land and its subtle presence. The act of care supports both
environmental and inner harmony.
