Story Context

The Council calls upon the Hero to arm themselves with a tool of power, connection, and intention. In many realms, a staff or sword is more than a simple object — it is a symbol of focus, balance, and the readiness to protect what is sacred. By seeking and claiming a wooden staff or sword, the Hero forges a bond with the living world. This tool becomes a companion on the path to bringing Heaven on Earth into form, a reminder of the Hero’s commitment to walk with purpose, courage, and care.

Objectives

Step 1: Explore for the Right Wood

Venture into a suitable outdoor area, such as:

• A forest or wooded path
• A park or nature trail
• A backyard or safe outdoor space

Move with awareness and respect, seeking fallen branches or wood that can be safely used. Avoid damaging living trees or protected areas.

Step 2: Select Your Staff or Sword

Among the branches and sticks you find:

• Look for a piece that feels strong and not easily breakable.
• Check that it is reasonably straight or naturally shaped in a way you like.
• Hold it in your hand and notice how it feels — balanced, comfortable, and “right” to you.

Trust your intuition. When you find the one, you’ll often just know.

Step 3: Shape and Decorate (Optional but Encouraged)

If you wish, spend time transforming the wood into a more personal tool:

• Gently remove loose bark or small offshoots (if safe to do so).
• Add simple carvings, runes, symbols, or words of power.
• Wrap sections with string, leather, or cloth.
• Paint small designs, lines, or sigils that represent your path.

As you work, imagine you are awakening the staff or sword to its purpose.

Step 4: Name and Dedicate Your Tool

When your staff or sword feels complete:

• Give it a name that reflects its energy or role.
• Hold it with both hands, close your eyes, and dedicate it to your quest. You may say something like:

“I claim this staff/sword as a tool of light, for protection, focus, and the work of Heaven on Earth. May it walk with me in courage and truth.”

Completion

By completing this quest, the Hero earns the rank of Bearer of the Wooden Tool, having obtained a symbol of focus and power, ready for future deeds. To confirm completion, email a photo or story of your staff or sword to the Council at: 📧 Quests@rllarp.ca
