Story Context

The Council invites the Hero to send a ripple of forgiveness across time and space. Old hurts can act like invisible chains, tying the heart to moments that have already passed. By choosing to forgive, the Hero does not excuse harm, but reclaims their power and restores the flow of energy within. Through the quest of Letters Across Time, the Hero writes a message of truth and release to one who has caused pain. Whether or not the letter is ever sent, the intention itself is magical — shifting unseen currents of energy and light, and freeing both hearts to move forward.

Objectives

Step 1: Identify the Target

Choose a person, situation, or group you wish to forgive. This might be:
  • Someone from your past
  • A current relationship or conflict
  • A system, institution, or group that has caused harm
Select one that feels meaningful, but not overwhelming. This is a step toward greater freedom, not a demand to “fix everything” at once.

Step 2: Write the Letter

Begin your letter as if the recipient could truly hear you. Include:
  • What happened, from your perspective
  • How their actions made you feel
  • Any truths you have never fully spoken
Then, when you are ready, declare your intention to forgive. You might write:
  • What you are choosing to release
  • What you are no longer willing to carry
  • How you wish to move forward — with or without them in your life
Honesty is the magic here. The letter does not need to be “perfect,” only real.

Step 3: Release the Energy

When your letter feels complete, perform a symbolic act to release its energy:
  • Fold and seal it, placing it somewhere safe as a reminder of your choice.
  • Burn it (safely) and imagine the smoke carrying your words into the unseen realms.
  • Bury it in the earth and picture the hurt being transformed into new growth.
As you do this, envision forgiveness flowing — not as agreement with what happened, but as a returning of your energy to yourself. See both you and the other party surrounded in light, each free to grow in your own way.

Step 4: Reflect

Sit quietly for a few moments. Breathe and notice:
  • Any sense of lightness, spaciousness, or relief
  • Any lingering tension, grief, or resistance
You do not need to feel “100% done” for this quest to be complete. Even a small softening is a powerful shift. Gently observe how letting go — even a little — affects your energy, focus, and sense of peace.

Completion
