Description
Hockey Country — North Bay
Type: Exploration / Physical / Social / Recreation
Difficulty: Easy–Moderate
Duration: 1 Week
Location: North Bay, Ontario
Story Context
Winter shapes the identity of North Bay, and nowhere is this spirit felt more deeply than on its outdoor ice. Twelve community rinks lie across the city — frozen spaces of effort, teamwork, and childhood memory. Here, neighbours gather, breath clouds the air, and the rhythm of hockey carries through the cold.
These rinks are maintained through shared care. Updates pass from resident to resident: which rinks are open, freshly flooded, or rough from the weather. To step onto these rinks is to step into a living tradition. The Council calls upon the Hero to explore this winter realm, to find its rinks, and to experience the joy and camaraderie that make North Bay truly Hockey Country.
