Description

Tired of Tires

Tagline: Roll burdens away. Restore the path.

📜 Quest Summary

Abandoned tires collect water, breed mosquitoes, leach chemicals, and scar the beauty of the land. This quest asks you to locate discarded tires in your community and ensure they are removed and recycled properly. You can do this solo for a tire or two, or team up for a larger haul.

Start small, act safely, and coordinate with local disposal or recycling programs. Each tire you move clears a little weight from the world — and turns waste into something useful again.

When complete, take before/after photos and save your recycling receipt or drop-off confirmation. Email your proof to quests@RLLARP.ca with the subject line “Tired of Tires.”

🧭 Suggested Steps

  1. Identify 1–5 discarded tires in a safe, accessible public area (trail edge, alley, roadside shoulder, shoreline).
  2. Call or check the website of your city/region for tire recycling rules and drop-off locations; note any fees or limits.
  3. Gather basic gear: work gloves, long sleeves, closed-toe shoes/boots, hand sanitizer, and a way to transport (car trunk, truck bed, hand cart).
  4. Take a quick “before” photo of the site and any tire counts.
  5. Move the tires carefully (see Safety). If water is pooled inside, tip to drain away from storm drains and waterways.
  6. Deliver to an approved recycling/drop-off site. Keep a receipt or confirmation if available.
  7. Return to the site for an “after” photo and a quick litter sweep if you have capacity.

🎯 Completion Markers

  • At least one discarded tire removed from the environment and taken to proper recycling.
  • Before/after photo(s) of the cleanup location.
  • Receipt or confirmation of recycling/drop-off (photo acceptable).
  • Email to quests@RLLARP.ca titled “Tired of Tires,” including city, tire count, and a short reflection (what you noticed, who helped).

⚠️ Safety & Respect

  • Only lift what you can safely carry. Bend at the knees, team-lift heavy tires, and use a dolly/cart when possible.
  • Wear gloves; avoid sharp wires/steel belts. Watch for insects or water inside tires.
  • Stay off roadways and private property without permission. Choose safe pull-over and loading spots.
  • Follow local laws: some areas require municipal collection or have limits/fees on tire drop-off.
  • If you encounter very large piles, waterlogged/heavy tires, or unsafe locations, report to your city’s waste or environment department instead of proceeding.

✨ Purpose

To restore beauty, reduce hazards, and convert waste into resource through responsible action. Each tire moved is a small victory for the land — one circle rolled back into the cycle of renewal.
