Description
The Feast of Shared Plenty
Tagline: Everyone brings a little; together we have more than enough.
Type: Community / Service / Hospitality
Difficulty: Easy–Moderate
Duration: 1–2 weeks (planning + hosting)
Location: Home, yard, community room, park shelter, or shared commons
📜 Story Context
In a generous world, fullness appears when we gather and share. This quest invites you to host a simple potluck-style feast—humble or hearty—where each guest contributes what they can. The goal is not spectacle, but togetherness: a table set with kindness where all feel welcome and no one leaves hungry.
Keep it warm, inclusive, and practical. A loaf, a stew, a bowl of fruit, a thermos of tea—plenty grows from small offerings placed side by side.
🧭 Suggested Steps
- Choose a setting & time: home table, backyard, community hall, or park shelter. Pick a 1–2 hour window.
- Invite 3–10 people: neighbors, friends, an elder, someone new in town. Encourage “bring what you can.”
- Anchor dish & basics: provide one simple main (e.g., pot of soup) plus water/tea, plates, cups, utensils, napkins.
- Label & include: ask guests to label common allergens; aim for at least one vegetarian and one gluten-free option.
- Set the table: a clean cloth, a candle or flower, seating for all. Open with a short intention or gratitude.
- Close with care: share leftovers fairly, tidy together, and leave the space cleaner than you found it.
🎯 Completion
After your feast, write a brief reflection (what was shared, a moment that mattered, and how the gathering felt).
Email your reflection and a photo of the set table before guests arrive or of the cleaned space after (no faces required) to quests@RLLARP.ca with the subject line “The Feast of Shared Plenty.”
🌟 Bonus Objectives (no additional XP)
- Invite someone who might otherwise eat alone this week.
- Send a portion to a neighbor who couldn’t attend.
- Gather one favorite recipe from a guest and share a small “recipe scroll” afterward.
⚠️ Safety & Respect
- Food safety: wash hands, keep hot foods hot/cold foods cold, label allergens clearly.
- Accessibility: provide seating, shade/warmth as needed; be mindful of sensory sensitivities.
- Privacy: avoid posting faces or locations without consent.
- Public spaces: follow local rules and pack out all waste.
✨ Purpose
To practice hospitality and abundance—proving that when we bring what we have, there is enough for all. In sharing simple food with open hearts, we make a little heaven at the table.
