Local Lore Collector — North Bay
Type: Cultural / Mental / Social / Magical
Difficulty: Moderate
Duration: 2–5 Hours
Location: Historical sites, libraries, museums, and culturally significant places in North Bay
Story Context
Every city has a visible face and a hidden one. In North Bay, the hidden face lives in
old stories, quiet plaques, and the memories of those who have watched the city change.
These stories are more than facts — they are threads in the fabric of the realm, carrying
lessons, warnings, and sparks of magic from the past into the present.
The Council calls upon the Hero to become a Local Lore Collector — to seek out these
stories, listen carefully, and retell them in a way that keeps their spirit alive.
Objectives
Step 1: Choose Your Lore Sites
Select 3–5 locations in or around North Bay where history or culture is held, such as
museums, libraries, historical buildings, monuments, or memorials.
Step 2: Discover the Stories
At these locations, uncover 3–5 stories that reveal something about North Bay’s character:
- Notable events that shaped the community
- Local legends or pieces of folklore
- Stories of everyday people who made a difference
- Little-known facts that shift your view of the city
Step 3: Share the Lore Creatively
Choose one or more stories and retell them in a creative form, such as:
- Spoken storytelling in person or on video
- Artwork inspired by the story
- A written narrative, reflection, or poem
Focus on carrying the heart and spirit of the story forward.
Step 4: Reflect on the Magic of History
Reflect on how these stories affected you:
- Did they change how you see North Bay?
- Did you feel closer to the land or to those who came before?
- What lessons or inspirations emerged for your own journey?
Completion
By collecting and creatively sharing stories from North Bay’s past, the Hero helps keep
the city’s memory alive and meaningful. The lore you carry forward becomes part of the
living realm.
