Story Context

The Council calls upon the Hero to read these currents like markings on the leyline beneath the city. This is not a quest of critique, but of discernment — to understand how places thrive, why others persist, and what invisible forces keep doors open even when reviews are low. Within the three chosen businesses lies a pattern: a lesson about survival, community, and the hidden ways energy gathers and moves through a city.

Objectives

Step 1: Find Three Nodes in the Commercial Flow

Choose one Barrie business from each category:

• One 5-star business (bright energy)
• One 4-star business (balanced energy)
• One 3-star business (persistent energy)

Visit in person if possible, to feel the imprint of each place.

Step 2: Observe the Energetic Signatures

Open your senses to the tone, atmosphere, and story of each business:

• How do people move through the space?
• How do staff engage with others?
• What emotional imprint fills the room?
• What choices make some places glow brighter than others?

Step 3: Discern the Mystery of the 3-Star Business

Ask yourself:

• Why does this place endure?
• What unseen force keeps it alive — location, loyalty, legacy, pricing, or something subtler?
• What gap does it fill that others do not?

Every surviving place holds a truth about the community around it.

Step 4: Record Your Conclusions

Capture your final insight: “What keeps each business alive, and what does that say about the spirit of Barrie?”
