Be a Fire Keeper
Type: Social / Logistical / Emotional / Magical
Difficulty: Moderate
Duration: 2–4 Hours (including preparation and event)
Location: Safe outdoor space, backyard, community fire circle, or other permitted area
Story Context
Fire is a symbol of transformation, warmth, and gathering. The Council calls upon the Hero
to become a
Fire Keeper, hosting a bonfire that unites friends and
community in reflection, connection, and shared intention.
Through careful preparation and mindful hosting, the Hero creates a circle of light where
stories, songs, silence, and presence can weave together. Around this fire, the realm is
gently reminded of what Heaven on Earth can feel like: safe, warm, connected, and alive
with meaning.
Objectives
Step 1: Plan the Fire Gathering
Select a safe and appropriate location where fires are
legally permitted.
Gather needed materials:
- Firewood and kindling
- Matches or a lighter
- Seating (logs, chairs, blankets)
- Safety equipment (water, sand, fire extinguisher as appropriate)
Check local regulations or guidelines about outdoor fires before proceeding.
Step 2: Invite Friends or Allies
Invite:
- Friends and family
- Other Heroes
- Community members who would appreciate reflection and connection
Explain the purpose of the gathering: connection, reflection, and shared intentions
for Heaven on Earth.
Step 3: Host the Fire
Light the fire safely and intentionally, then:
- Open the space by briefly naming its purpose.
- Invite people to share stories, offer reflections or prayers, sing songs,
or sit in silence with the fire.
- Let the gathering unfold naturally while tending both the flame and the energy
of the group.
Step 4: Maintain Safety and Harmony
Throughout the gathering:
- Ensure the fire remains controlled and attended at all times.
- Keep pathways clear and watch for stray sparks.
- Maintain a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels safe and respected.
You are both guardian of the flame and guardian of the space.
Step 5: Close the Gathering
When it feels complete:
- Invite a final moment of gratitude, silence, or shared words.
- Thank everyone for their presence and contributions.
- Safely extinguish the fire, ensuring the coals are fully out and cool.
Afterwards, reflect on the energy and intentions raised during the event.
Completion
By completing this quest, the Hero earns the rank of
Keeper of Flame, having facilitated a space of warmth, reflection,
and shared magical energy. The fire’s glow leaves a lasting imprint of harmony and
intention in the hearts of all present.
